Our Company Story Thank you for visiting our company website. Whether you are a builder looking for a reliable, accessible foundation contractor, or a homeowner looking for the most qualified, personable, and experienced company to build your new basement, we want to share with you our story. J.D. Laundra Foundation & Masonry is a second-generation family-owned business. We have been building foundations and providing concrete flatwork since 1973. We take pride that we still work for our first builders. Our company story starts when John Laundra, president, began to do small masonry and flatwork jobs with nothing more than a wheelbarrow, shovel & a trowel for individuals in the area. He and one other employee worked after hours, in addition to their full-time jobs as masons, sometimes late into the night, on weekends, and on holidays. In 1976, a block supplier recommended John to a residential builder who was looking for a good block mason. The builder had recently been in a car accident and could no longer do his own block work. This was John's first builder and we still do his foundations and flatwork to this day. As John was building his business, he was also raising his family. Kristin & Jonathan, watched him put in long hours in the field and at home in the office. Being his children, we learned how to treat customers with respect. We learned persistence, integrity, commitment, and honesty, both personally and in business, all from a young age. As the foundation industry evolved over time, John recognized the shift in builders' preferences from block masonry to concrete poured walls. J.D. Laundra Foundations & Masonry bought a set of 8' high poured wall forms in April of 1993 to compete in the changing industry. The transition from laying block walls to pouring concrete walls was an easy one and the company began to grow at an accelerating pace. In order to expand our business further, J.D. Laundra Foundations & Masonry purchased a set of 9' high poured wall forms in June of 2000. This purchase completed our inventory of poured wall forms and we now have 2', 4', and 9' high poured wall forms to best serve our builders and homeowners. As the company progressed, Jonathan had the opportunity to pursue his dreams and go out into the financial world and is now working on his own for Edward Jones. Kristin runs the company with personal service in a timely, safe manner. As the picture below shows, Kristin has always wanted to follow in her father's footsteps and has done so in a seamless manner. Thank you for getting to know us.
